Purbeck

Purbeck in Dorset is often referred to as an island but this is not strictly the case, it is actually a peninsula, as it is a big mass of land that is almost entirely surrounded by water. There are some beautiful views across the channel and down the steep cliffs that lead to the sea. If you plan on visiting Purbeck, then there are plenty of places to stay and an almost unlimited amount to see. Stay in one of the self catering picturesque cottages where you will have all the modern conveniences you will need and you can come and go as you please. Just a little way up the coast is the resort town of Swanage with plenty to offer visitors of all ages.

Purbeck has miles of wonderful coastline and a wealth of historic buildings, Corfe Castle is at the centre of the peninsular and it is surrounded by small and picturesque villages. Purbeck has its fair share of tourists so there are plenty of things to do for all the family. Purbeck is steeped in history with more than its fair share of castles and old churches. If you like older architectural styles then this part of Dorset is ideal for you.
